At Icertech, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword- is it central to our operation.

We know that our customers care about the environmental impact of their packaging choices, and we’re committed to reducing our footprint while continuing to deliver the same high standards of quality and service. That’s why we’ve invested in solar energy at our North Wales site.

Our solar panel system was installed as part of our broader commitment to sustainability and responsible manufacturing. The system now provides a significant portion of the electricity used in the production of our gel ice packs.

Based on average British weather, our solar panels generate a total of 66MWh in a year – that’s enough to make 2.4 million cups of tea! It’s also the equivalent to the electricity used in a year by 24 average British households. The carbon offset of our electricity generation has the equivalent impact of planting 590 trees per year!

When you choose Icertech, you’re not just choosing high-quality temperature-controlled packaging – you’re choosing a supplier that’s actively working to reduce its environmental impact.

Our solar panels help us lower our carbon footprint, which supports our ISO 14001 environmental management accreditation and aligns with the sustainability goals of many of our customers in the food, pharmaceutical, and logistics sectors.

By generating clean, renewable energy on site, we’re able to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and cut down on our carbon emissions. It’s a win-win for the environment and our business. The installation of solar panels is just one step in our ongoing journey to operate more efficiently and responsibly. We’re always looking for new ways to innovate, whether that’s through reducing waste, minimising packaging materials, or improving the recyclability of our products.

The journey towards environmental responsibility is ongoing, and we remain dedicated to exploring innovative solutions and setting higher benchmarks for ourselves in the years to come.
